Late in 2007 the Rotorua Singlespeed Society was formed by a group of local mountain bikers to run the 2008 New Zealand Singlespeed Champs on Anzac Weekend, April 25-27.
The event was a big success! 
Three years later the RSSS will host the 2010 Singlespeed Worlds Champs.
